Operations related to uploading, editing and removing files in the ProvenDB Compliance Vault are listed below.
When files are uploaded or updated in the ProvenDB Compliance Vault, a cryptographic signature of that file and it's associated metadata will be automatically created. This signature will be combined with many other signatures into a single value which is then anchored on a public Blockchain.
This immutable record can be used to prove the existence of that file in the vault at the time of upload, and subsequently to make sure that file has not been tampered with or altered in any way.
Files in the Compliance Vault are append-only, meaning that an update to a file creates an entirely new version. You can learn more about versions here.
