Forgets a file, deleting the document data while retaining the information needed to verify previously created blockchain proofs.
Forget, not Delete
Although this is a DELETE request, we refer to it as forgetting a file because only the content of the document and it's metadata are deleted, but the cryptographic signature still remains. As if we have forgotten what the file is, but we remember that we had a file and how it fits into our Blockchain proofs. This allows us to continue to validate its existence without having to keep a copy.
Before Forgetting Documents
Be careful when forgetting documents, if you don't maintain a copy of the original document outside of Compliance Vault, you will become unable to fully verify the existence of the document in the future.
